Nothing happens by accident, nothing happens randomly.
That’s how it goes in my life.
The Universal Hip Hop Museum (UHHM) was founded by Hip Hop pioneers and has been chartered by the New York State Department of Education Board of Regents, to preserve, showcase, and celebrate the culture’s past, present and future. As a Kickstarter backer of UHHM, I stayed in touch after the campaign. I was overjoyed to be asked to be the founding editor of the museum’s digital newsletter.
Telling the stories about the movement, the genre, and the people who make and live it was amazing. Now, as a contributing writer I interview people who are contributing to the culture in all possible ways, from philanthropy to visual art to performance to community building and more.
The museum will open in 2023. In the meantime, see what we published in the early days’ newsletter, get involved in our grassroots efforts, and become a member. Check out what I write below and in the UHHM’s Archives and Collections.
